RABAI

Overview

These Terms of Service govern your use of RABAI, including the website, chat assistant, zmanim tools, reminders, Siddur access, Jewish calendar tools, Torah source learning, tefillin tracking, directory features, SMS, WhatsApp, voice, email, and future mobile features.

By using RABAI, creating an account, enabling reminders, opting into messages, or submitting information, you agree to these Terms and to the RABAI Privacy Policy.

RABAI Services

RABAI may provide features including:

• zmanim, Shabbos times, candle lighting, havdalah, Hebrew dates, parsha, Daf Yomi, and Jewish calendar information;
• reminders tied to time, calendar events, Shabbos, zmanim, or user-entered tasks;
• Siddur navigation and tefillah tools;
• Torah, Gemara, Mishnah, halacha-source, parsha, and learning assistance using trusted sources when available;
• tefillin tracker, tefillin reminders, and tefillin health notes;
• community directory search and listing intake;
• answer review, issue reporting, and quality-improvement systems.

Some features may be experimental, incomplete, limited by account type, or available only in certain communities.

Torah, Halacha, and Religious Use

RABAI is designed as a source-first Orthodox Jewish assistant. For Torah and halacha-related questions, RABAI should show sources where possible and explain them in a clear frum style.

RABAI does not provide personal psak. Practical halacha questions should be brought to your Rav. If RABAI displays Torah, halacha, minhag, or hashkafa information, it is for source learning and general understanding unless explicitly reviewed and presented otherwise.

For urgent danger, medical emergency, pikuach nefesh, abuse, safety, legal, financial, or crisis situations, do not rely on RABAI. Contact emergency services, your Rav, or an appropriate qualified professional immediately.

Accounts and User Responsibilities

You are responsible for keeping your account login information secure and for the activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information where needed for location, reminders, SMS consent, directory intake, and account settings.

You may not use another person's account without permission. RABAI may limit, suspend, or disable access if an account is used in a way that creates risk, abuse, fraud, privacy concerns, or service disruption.

Reminders and Notifications

RABAI reminders are provided for convenience. You are responsible for checking important times and obligations. Reminder delivery may be delayed, blocked, filtered, misconfigured, or unavailable because of network issues, carrier filtering, device settings, incorrect user settings, Lambda/API outages, or third-party provider outages.

For time-sensitive mitzvos, travel, medication, appointments, emergencies, or critical tasks, use your own backup system and do not rely only on RABAI.

R.A.B.A.I SMS Terms

Program name: R.A.B.A.I SMS.

By connecting your mobile number to R.A.B.A.I and opting in to SMS, you agree to receive recurring SMS messages from R.A.B.A.I, including account verification, user-requested reminders, tefillin tracker prompts, zmanim/calendar replies, and replies to messages you send to R.A.B.A.I.

Message frequency varies based on your account settings, reminders, and messages you send to R.A.B.A.I. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time.

SMS consent is not required to use the R.A.B.A.I website or app. If you unsubscribe from SMS, your web/app access may continue, and reminders may still be available through other enabled channels.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use RABAI to:

• harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, or harm another person;
• submit false directory listings, fake community information, or misleading contact details;
• try to bypass security, scrape private data, attack the service, or interfere with other users;
• request illegal content, hate, violence, explicit content, fraud, spam, or prohibited messaging use cases;
• use RABAI to issue psak, medical advice, legal advice, financial advice, or emergency instructions on behalf of RABAI;
• copy, resell, or misuse RABAI's content, brand, software, workflows, or source-routing systems without permission.

Directory and Community Listings

RABAI directory listings may include shuls, minyanim, stores, gemachs, services, and community resources. Listing information may be submitted by users, field staff, or community contacts and may require review before publication.

RABAI does not guarantee that directory listings are complete, current, open, available, kosher-certified, or suitable for your needs. Always verify important information directly with the listed organization, rav, gabbai, business, hashgacha, or responsible contact.

Beta and Experimental Features

Some RABAI features may be offered as beta, preview, testing, or experimental features. These features may change, produce errors, be temporarily unavailable, or be removed. User reports and answer audits may be used to improve RABAI and prevent repeated mistakes.

Plans, Payments, and Future Paid Features

RABAI may offer free and paid plans, school or shul accounts, reminder limits, messaging limits, directory tools, or premium features. Paid terms, pricing, cancellation rules, and refund rules may be provided separately when paid features are activated.

Intellectual Property

RABAI, the RABAI name, design, software, workflows, interface, and platform content are owned by RABAI or its licensors. Torah source texts and third-party data may be provided by external source providers and remain subject to their own rights and terms.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

RABAI is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work to make RABAI accurate, fast, helpful, and source-backed, but we do not guarantee that every answer, reminder, calendar calculation, directory listing, source, notification, or feature will be error-free or uninterrupted.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RABAI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, missed reminders, delayed messages, incorrect user settings, or reliance on incomplete information.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as RABAI grows, including as SMS, WhatsApp, mobile apps, school, shul, directory, tefillin, and beta features expand. The updated date at the top will show when these Terms were last changed.
